YOUNG PROFESSIONALS NETWORKING GROUP

MEET THE BOARD

President - Mickey Malotte
mickey.malotte@ypng.org

Mickey is a software developer and wannabe music producer with a decade of experience building software and leading collaborative projects. He's also a graduate of the National Outdoor Leadership School, where he completed a six-month backcountry leadership expedition. These diverse experiences—blending creativity, problem-solving, and people-first leadership—shape his approach as President of YPNG.

He's dedicated to developing YPNG into an organization that's actively invested in the community and intentional about supporting people building their lives here—and has been crafting a custom website and membership platform to support that vision.

Grounded in values of presence, kindness, and real human connection, Mickey is passionate about creating meaningful opportunities to engage, grow, and make a positive impact together.

He's passionate about helping the organization grow sustainably while staying true to its mission of supporting young professionals on the Central Coast.

When he's not crunching numbers or talking local economic strategy, you'll find him watching football or basketball, digging into the latest UFO news, or answering to his rapper name, B-Cool. Wu Tang forever.

Marie, a Master's graduate in English Literature, brings a unique mix of education, management experience, and community-building to YPNG’s board. As a substitute teacher in multiple school districts, she's passionate about education and community connection. Currently pursuing her teaching credential, Marie is all about expanding membership, fostering meaningful relationships, and diversifying group activities.

Whether she's organizing engaging events or helping others level up in their careers, she’s dedicated to making an impact.  Off the clock, you’ll find her reading, writing, or hitting the softball and golf fields—bringing the same energy to the game as she does to YPNG!

Outdoor Activities Director - Eric Okerlund

Eric plays a key role in organizing YPNG's softball league and is passionate about creating inclusive spaces where people can build friendships. Drawing on an eclectic professional background that ranges from the golf industry to founding his own mechanical clock repair business, his leadership style blends logistical know-how, creativity, and a genuine warmth that brings people together.

Whether on the field, planning a league season, or brainstorming the next community event, Eric brings energy, collaboration, and a strong sense of purpose to his work with YPNG.
