MEET THE BOARD


President - Rachel Lippa

After serving on the YPNG board for two years as the Creative Director, Rachel decided to take on a larger role as President, with the goal of increasing events/activities and creating more value for each of our members. As a Cal Poly alumni, Rachel has been able to call San Luis Obispo her home for 8 years, and is eager to connect more young professionals within the community and facilitate friendships and networking! 

Rachel works as the Sales and Project Development Manager for a local bulk wine/grape brokerage and private label development company. In her free time, you can find Rachel hiking, cooking, scuba diving, traveling, and looking at golden retriever reels on Instagram. 


Vice President + Marketing Chair - Olivia French

Olivia French is a Georgia grown peach living on the central coast. After graduating from Auburn University with a degree in Graphic Design, she began as a branding and packaging designer and is now an Art Director and Producer in the wine, beer, spirits, and craft industry. She works on photo and video shoot productions, marketing and advertising, social media strategy and visual development, prop styling, cocktail creating, and the occasional hand modeling.

Her golden retriever, Jameson, and her 3 chickens, Chickatita, Dixie, and Dolly keep her on her toes when she’s not at work. She loves gardening, homesteading, cooking tasty meals, live music, throwing pottery, arranging flowers, being outside, taking on exciting new projects, and spending quality time with friends and family.

Drink of choose? Whiskey sour.



Treasurer + Volunteer Chair - Erika Anderson

Erika grew up in Chicago and went to college at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, where she studied chemical engineering and business management. After graduation, she relocated to San Luis Obispo and joined YPNG soon after. Through YPNG, she met a lot of awesome people and became more involved in the area.

Erika works as a process engineer at a speciality chemical company in Paso Robles. Her roles include conducting safety assessments, designing new equipment and systems, and implementing process improvements. She is currently working on obtaining her Professional Engineering license. In her free time, Erika enjoys exploring restaurants, reading and hanging out with her cat.


Secretary + Community Chair - Emery Luper

Emery grew up in Fairbanks, Alaska, just south of the Arctic Circle and graduated from the University of Alaska Fairbanks with a bachelor's in history. After graduating, he built experience as the clinic director of a multidisciplinary medical clinic. In 2019, he was ready for further growth and moved to San Luis Obispo to start working at Edward Jones Investments. In Emery's free time he enjoys camping and hiking in the great outdoors. He is an avid basketball fan and co-hosts drop-in basketball games at Ludwig Community Center on Friday evenings. Emery is also a movie buff, swimmer and amateur mixologist.



Outdoor Activities Chair - Javier Aguilera

Javier was raised in Santa Maria and moved to the Central Valley in 1999 to go to Fresno State. He ended up living there for 20 years after graduating with a degree in finance. Deciding to move back in 2019, he now calls Oceano home with his family Holly, Gabe and Maliyah. He's enjoying the cool weather and doing outside activities with his family and friends. Hiking, bike riding, walking, BBQ'n, and playing softball are just a few of the activities he enjoys.

Javier has been in the banking industry for over 17 years. Roles he’s performed consist of investment banking, business banking, mortgage lending, personal banking, and his current new role as the Program Manager for indirect lending at SESLOC Federal Credit Union.

Javier is excited to join YPNG's board of directors as the Director of Outdoor Activities. He is looking forward to bringing his enjoyment of the outdoors to everyone to love no matter their physical condition. Everyone should be able to appreciate the outdoors! There's no WiFi In the forest, but you'll find a better connection.



Membership Chair - Katie Farrell

Katie Farrell, MA, BCC, NBC-HWC has 10 years of experience in service- and people-oriented leadership positions. She is a Program Director at the College of Executive Coaching, where she wears many hats, some of which are managing the staff and day-to-day operations of the business, advising students, teaching and marketing. She is also Owner and Founder of Katie Farrell Coaching, where she coaches individuals to align their strengths, passions and interests with their career, life and well-being. The common thread through her career has been developing others personally and professionally. She finds purpose and fulfillment in building meaningful connections with individuals from diverse backgrounds. She is a SLO transplant, originally from South Dakota, who moved here about 8 years ago and has truly fallen in love with the people and place that is Central California. She spends much of her time outdoors camping, hiking or at the beach and also loves traveling, cooking, BBQing, gardening and enjoying connection with friends and family. She lives in South County with her partner John (when he is not at work as a firefighter) and their dog, Jax.
